city form: transit

The Buenos Aires metro, know as Subte—short for subterráneo—was inaugurated in 1913, being the first of its kind not only in Latin America, but in all of the Southern Hemisphere. It also has the reputation of being the first subway in the world to be privatized, having been taken over in the 1990s by Metrovias. The plan of Subte is fork-like, with the hub in Micro-centro, the historic and financial center of the city.http://www.sbase.com.ar/en/http://www.metrovias.com.ar/V2/Home-En.asp?lang=ENhttp://www.buenosaires-argentina.com/neighborhoods/microcentro.htmlhttp://www.buenosaires-argentina.com/neighborhoods/microcentro.htmlshapeimage_8_link_0shapeimage_8_link_1shapeimage_8_link_2shapeimage_8_link_3
