In the 1970s the Canadian Government recognized the potential to redevelop a 37-acre industrial brownfield site across False Creek from downtown Vancouver. With a focus on arts programming, Granville Island is populated with galleries and crafts stores as well as an art school, theater company, hotel, community/sports facilities, and a popular farmer’s market.http://www.ecuad.ca/http://www.artsclub.com/http://www.artsclub.com/http://www.granvilleisland.com/public-market/farmer-marketshapeimage_5_link_0shapeimage_5_link_1shapeimage_5_link_2shapeimage_5_link_3
